The juggernaut of advertising on Indian news space

Is it just me or is everyone pissed off at the Indian media?

This is just one amongst the many examples I’m putting forward:

Inspite of it being one of the best selling Indian dailies, I never have taken to The Times of India. And dare you not visit their website; it’ll thrust adverts at you like a B grade porn website.

Case in point – look at the below given picture. It might just occur to you that the actual news is just tried to fit in after allocating spaces to the adverts. As if that wasn’t enough, they placed an even bigger advert right in the middle of the article.

Compare it with the New York Times article below and you’ll realize you wouldn’t mind advertising if only it were to be more aesthetic and wouldn’t obstruct your reading.

I’ve highlighted/outlined the advertisements by the glaring yellow ink using the humble Paint.
